Our weekend

This weekend was so busy, I'm sitting here typing this and trying to stay awake. We all had little sleep but it was a nice time spent together. Last week there was a terrible, terrible train wreck in the next town over and it really shook the community. 

Friday at school we decided to hold a bake sale to raise money for the families. That evening my friend Celeste and her kids came over to bake. Alongside my sister, we baked over 300 treats, and the bake sale itself was successful. I was glad to have Jeremy and Joaquin there to help.

Sunday we spent the morning enjoying a family breakfast, then headed to the mall for a little holiday shopping. It was so crowded so we quickly headed out and stopped at a local pizza place.
Over the last few years, I've really begun to dislike Christmas shopping in stores. It's just so crowded around this time! We have collected a few gifts here and there throughout the year to help with some of that, and I plan on shopping online and keeping an eye out for e-mail deals these next few weeks. Tonight I am going to bake/cook for a Thanksgiving potluck at school tomorrow, finish up homework, and get ready for the fun week ahead.

Deck the halls

 Our Christmas decorations have been going up over the past week. Today Joaquin and I enjoyed decorating the tree while listening to the She & Him christmas record....I've waited nearly a whole year to pull it out and play it again! So happy. I'm hoping the rest of the evening we can enjoy hot chocolate + 30 Rock when dad comes home. Xo
